The Austin lot on theleft has a slab with this inscription : —Joseph Austin, of Boston, Mass., died July 27, 1847, aged soul to Him who gave it rose;God led it to its long repose. The monument on the Wells lot at the right is a peculiarbut very appropriate one. The material is of a grayishsandstone. There is no ornament whatever about it; butnear its top it is cut through from side to side, showing ahollow cross on each of its four sides. On the Watson lotat the right there is a large marble Gothic monument, anda small marble column on the Heath lot on the same side ofthe avenue. The Stickney and Wason monuments on theright also deserve attention. At the comer of HeliotropePath the visitor will have an opportunity to view the mon-ument on the Allen lot. This monument has been frequent-ly noticed by many as being one of the most appropriatesaid beautifully-executed in the Cemetery. It is to thememory of Samuel P.
