This image may not be used to state or imply NOAO endorsement of any company or product Optical photograph of the peculiar galaxy NGC 4656/57 which lies in the constellation of Canes Venatici. The galaxy is probably either a pair of interacting or colliding galaxies or a single galaxy which has been disrupted by a recent gravitational encounter. The photograph was taken with the four-metre Mayall telescope at Kitt Peak National Observatory, Arizona. Lower right on original print.
