Thethin, delicate young trees stand in their peaceful order, whilstbeyond them the untamed river flows in its old channel as ithas flowed for a thousand years, and the murmur of it comesto us without ceasing, here in our protected rest. To my taste there is nothing in our present voyage morecharming than the hours when the Boussemroum is mooredfor the night.
