The market last week stayed in much the same condition as was re- jiorted the week previous. We are to- day, February 3, having our first real snow storm. According to the daily press, the groundhog saw his shadow and winter weather is just beginning. As to cut flowers, the market was not overcrowded at any time during the week. Roses continue scarce, espe- cially Killarneys. Eiehmonds and Beauties are more plentiful than any of the other varieties. Prices are up on roses of every kind, although extra long Beauties can be bought at $4 per dozen. Carnations also went up a lit- tle, as not nearly so many are coming in. All stock in this line appears to be of extra good quality, with top prices at $4 per hundred. Violets are more plentiful and seem to sell well. There has been no ad- vance in price except on Mazzuras, which hold a steady price at all times, as the demand for this variety is large with first-class establishments. Sweet peas shortened up considerably last week and the wholesalers were unable to supply the demand. Jonquils, Von Sions, Paper Whites, Romans, valley and freesias were fairly good sellers all the week, and the market affords enough to supply the demand at any time. Tulips are now coming, but not many as yet. Easter lilies and callas. EsUblished 1857. FLOMUST^ 737-739 Btsckmgham Place CHICAGO ^D. Phone 3 Oraceland Send U8 your retail orders.
