After her marriage, Mrs. Mary Spear Tiernan,gave much attention to Literature, in which work sheWHS greatly encouraged and assisted by her husband,?and after his death she seemed to lose all interest in it,and abanconed all her efforts. Mrs. Mary S. Tiernan was one of the founders of^?The Womans Literary Club, and after her death,their tributes to her memory expressed their greatadmiration and appreciation of her.
