The picturesque town of Szentendre lies at the gateway to the Danube the centre, surrounded by 19th century Burgers houses, stands the Plague Cross, erected in 1763 as an ex-votive. The town contains some beautiful Serbian Orthodox Churches with treasure troves of icons, and impressive architecture, church spires rise majestically above the rooftops
