Visitors to Times Square in New York on Sunday, December 29, 2013 peddle on CitiBikes connected to generators to store power to light the New Year's Eve ball drop. Each bike is connected to a deep-cycle battery and is generates 75 watts an hour with 50,000 watts needed to power the 30,000 LED's on the ball. The energy created will be pumped into the power grid.
