Tyrus Himes was born at Troy, Bradford County, Penn-sylvania, April 14, 1818, and while living in what w^as thenthe frontier, and lacking educational advantages was a manof marked intelligence and ability and was well known amonghis associates as an exceedingly well posted man regardingcurrent events, particularly respecting all phases of farm became a warm friend of Owen Bush who told me in later.
