Chappaqua, NY 10/30/11-Snow from a freak early blizzard dumped record amounts of snow Saturday and Sunday, taking down trees still laden with leaves, causing severe damage. Although temperatures rose and snow began melting by midday, more than 2 million were without power in the northeastern US.


Chappaqua, New York, October 30, 2011 - Less than two months after Hurricane Irene wreaked havoc on the area, New York was hit with a freak early blizzard that dumped a record amount of snow there and throughout much of the northeastern US. The snow began Saturday and fell through the early morning hours of of Sunday and though by midday temperatures rose and much of the snow melted., over 2 million were still stranded without electricity.
