A modern marker cairn built on the remains of a prehistoric burial mound on the summit at the E end of Foel Fennli hillfort: looking SSE with the Clwydian Hills & Vale of Clwyd beyond. The Iron Age fort was occupied from the first millennium BC through to the Roman period, C2nd-C4th AD. Many of the hills in the Clwydian Range are topped by Iron Age forts and cairns of various dates.
