Texas (Sept. 19, 2008) Merchant ships are anchored off the coast of Galveston, waiting for the port to reopen during the recovery following Hurricane Ike devastation. Amphibious Construction Battalion (ACB) 2 Disaster Relief Team, embarked aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Nassau (LHA 4), is taking part in the effort to clear the Port of Galveston. Nassau is anchored off the coast of Galveston to provide defense support to civil authorities as directed in the wake of Hurricane Ike.
