It sits in the Karakoram mountain range on the border between Pakistan and China. Numerous glaciers (grey lines) and landscapes of barren rock (brown) surround the snow-capped peaks (white). This image was taken using a handheld 70mm camera by a crew member on board Space Shuttle Atlantis during mission STS-106, which took place on 8th-20th September 2000.
