Col. Jennifer Short, 23d Wing commander, speaks during the Celebration of Life ceremony honoring the late Mr. W. Parker Greene, March 14, 2019, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. Mr. Greene was an Air Force advocate who was the patriarch of the relationship between Moody and South Georgia for more than 40 years. Most notably, Mr. Greene’s commitment to the military presence in Valdosta led to him becoming the first executive director of the Moody Support Committee. Mr. Greene, a steadfast Air Force advocate and one of the most influential military civic leaders, passed away Dec. 18, 2018.
