Joseph Hill, of Richmond, Ind., and Henry Sheppard, of Hill's Cincinnati store, were visitors recently. They took in the wholesale market and called on the downtown stores and a few green- houses, under the guidance of Herman Knoble. Alterations in the store of Knoble Bros, are completed and the force is ready for the rush. The firm now has one of the best looking stores in the mid- dle west; the improvements made have worked wonders in the appearance of the store. Monday evening, .January 8, the Flo- rists' Club will hold a bulb night. Ex- hibits of any flowering bulbous stock will be appreciated. .Tohn Van Leeu- wen, of Saasenheim, Holland, will ad- dress the club on "; F. A. F. BUFFALO. The Market. The usual lull before Christmas was not so marked this season. Last week's business was most satisfactory; the sup- ply of stock was not equal to the de- mand. The cold weather had a tend- ency to shut off the supply of roses, but, then, most of the growers were holding stock back as much as possible for Christmas. Perhaps never before have there been so many mums for Christmas as this year. Beauties are of excellent quality and in sufficient numbers, and there has been a good demand for them during the last few weeks. Other varieties of roses also are excellent. Without a doubt higher prices will be paid this year than ever before and retailers will be glad to get stock at anv figures.
