People are seen walking near the ice areas on the shore of Lake Jökulsárlón. Jökulsárlón is a lake located in southern Iceland, with an area of 20 km2 and a depth of over 200 meters. Until less than 100 years ago, the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier (part of the Vatnajökull glacier) extended even beyond the ring road. Due to rising temperatures, the glacier has retreated, creating this impressive glacial lagoon.
