Local Sardinian Cheesemonger (Formaggiaio) and Customers Choosing Cheese at His Stall in the Weekly, Summer Market, Baia Sardinia, Gallura, Sardinia,

A local Sardinian Cheesemonger or Formaggiaio, busy cutting a local Sardinian cheese on his stall for his customers to taste at the local weekly, summer market in Baia Sardinia. This market is held each Tuesday morning from 10:00 through the summer. This busy market attracts a variety of local and holiday visitors to look for traditional, locally produced food and gifts. At this market you are invited to taste a variety of the specialised foods for sale. As an Island famous for its shepherds it is not surprising that exceptional cheeses are produced here. About 80% of Italy’s pecorino romano is made here. The traditional and popular ewe’s milk cheese is fiora sarda.
