L. Ratcliff, President of the Ratclift Paper Co.,Toronto, returned last week from a business and pleasuretrip to the Old Country. He went over with the Canadianbowlers and was lead in Captain Thomas Rennies rink,which won the gold medals donated by John Ross Robert-son, of the Toronto Telegram, for the Canadian quartettescoring the highest number of points in all the gamesplayed against their Old Country opponents. After thebowling festivities were over, Mr. Ratcliff visited and Sweden on business and inspeced a number. MR. H. T. MELDRUM will be carried on in conjunction with the above. Aftergraduating in Arts from McGill University in 1907 engaged with the Montreal Star as street repor-ter and also spent two sessions as parliamentary reporterfor the same paper in the Quebec Legislature. Thesepositions have kept him in very close touch with the indus-trial development of the country, and he is intimatelyacquainted with the majority of the prominent leaders inthe various industries. He has taken a keen interest inthe development of the pulp and paper industry and hisknowledge of the same is considerably more than that of theordinary well-informed layman. September 1, 191.
