CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA (Feb. 27, 2019) Cmdr. Christopher K. Brusca, center, commanding officer, future USS Charleston (LCS 18), and a native of Los Angeles, poses for a photo with the members of Tin Can Sailors National Association of Destroyer Veterans during a ship visit. LCS 18 is scheduled to be commissioned in Charleston on March 2 and will be the sixteenth littoral combat ship to enter the fleet and the ninth of the Independence variant. It is the sixth ship named for Charleston, the oldest and largest city in the state of South Carolina.
