Henrietta Ponsonby, Countess of Bessborough, 1761 – 1821. Full name: Lady Henrietta Frances Spencer. She was more usually known as Harriet. Wife of Frederick Ponsonby, 3rd Earl of Bessborough. Amongst the couple's six children was Lady Caroline Lamb. She found consolation from an abusive husband with many affairs, including one with playwright Richard Sheriden.
