PACIFIC OCEAN (May 14, 2017) Landing Craft Utility 1646, assigned to Assault Craft Unit 1, delivers “Tigers” to the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) for an overnight Tiger Cruise. Tiger Cruise allowed more than 120 friends and family members to embark Makin Island to experience Navy and Marine Corps life at sea during the ship’s return trip to San Diego following a seven-month deployment to the 3rd, 5th and 7th Fleet areas of operation.
