The results obtained with the diphtheria bacillus are perhaps notquite so graphic as with the other organisms, partly for the reasonthat the diphtheria bacillus is not motile and it is difficult to obtaina uniform suspension; and also partly for the reason that it grows soslowly, if at all, at 15° C.
