PHILIPPINE SEA (Sept. 4, 2022) – Gunner’s Mate 2nd Class Erica Ponce, from Ewa, Hawaii, fires a .50-caliber machine gun alongside Gunner’s Mate 1st Class George Thomas, from Rochester, New York, during a live-fire exercise aboard Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Barry (DDG 52) while operating in the Philippine Sea, Sept. 4. Barry is assigned to Commander, Task Force 71/Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest forward-deployed DESRON and the 7th Fleet’s principal surface force.
