Castillo de Peñafiel – Penafiel Castle in the province of Valladolid, Castilla y Leon, Spain. Penafiel in Spanish means loyal rock. This beautiful medieval hilltop fortress, situated in the region of the Duero Valley. This castle is situated on a hill from where it is possible to enjoy view of both Duratón and Botijas valleys. Penafiel castle was built in the XIV Its long thin design resembles a ship, it has eight towers and a stone vault. Peñafiel Castle is built with stone from Campaspero and is an example of Germanic Gothic. It measures 210 metres long, and 33 wide.
