Photograph of Coast Guardsmen at Foxhole Entrance. Mopping Up Japs in Kwajalein Foxholes. A Coast Guard photographer in the Marshall Islands invasion catches a Marine challenging a Jap soldier to emerge from a foxhole on Namur Island in Kwajalein atoll. The Jap refused and was shot. The incident occurred as Marines, landed by Coast Guard and Navy-manned landing craft, were mopping up resistance on the captured atoll.
