Yarlung Tsangpo Canyon, Tibet, satellite image. The Yarlung Tsangpo (also Yarlung Zangbo) Canyon was carved by the Yarlung Tsangpo river (upper right to lower left). The mountain Namcha Barwa is upper right where the canyon reaches a depth of 6,009 metres making it one of the deepest canyons in the world. Image taken in November 2013 by the OLI (Operational Land Imager) on board the Landsat 8 space satellite. This image covers an area measuring 100 kilometres squared.
