The population of Komtau throws chocolate, flowers and cigarettes to the German troops as they enter the town. Komotau, Sudetenland. After the annexation of Austria, Hitler demanded that he be given the Sudeten region of Czechoslovakia. At the Munich conference in September 1938 the Western powers agreed to this and the nazis occupied the area.
