Shwedagon Pagoda - at 112m this is Burma's biggest and most sacred pagoda. Also known as the Golden Pagoda it has been ransacked many times for the extremely valuable precious stones which decorate tis upper tiers. It draws pilgrims for all over Buddhist Asia, Rangoon, Burma. Here a Burmese nun, dressed in characteristic pink, pours water over one of the 8 day shrines encircling the pagoda.
