Distinctive Characters.—Jaw very short and deep as in the sun-bear U. malayanus, but size large, comparable with U. arctos; mi narrow and long, lacking the metastyUd cusp of LK malayanus; m2 rather short and wide, wider posteriorly than anteriorly.
