Relief stones from earlier Roman tombs were reused in the construction of the medieval archbishop's palace of Narbonne.


The city of Narbonne in the Occitania region of Southern France has a rich Roman heritage. Narbonne was founded as a Roman settlement in the 2nd century and was the capital of the province Gallia Narbonensis of the Roman Empire.
