Post-surgery lymphocele treatment. Close-up of a 70-year-old female patient undergoing surgery to drain a lymphocele. A lymphocele is a collection of lymphatic fluid within the body. It is usually a surgical complication seen after extensive pelvic surgery (such as cancer surgery). Here, the lymphocele developed 2 months after a vulvectomy (removal of the vulva) to remove a carcinoma (cancer) of the vulva.
