After Mr. Wrights settlement at , the membership steadily in-creased, and the Executive Committee re-solved to take steps as soon as possible tosecure the endowment of the church. Therequisite sum having been guaranteed bymembers of the congregation, the Endow-ment Committee of the Church of Scot-land gave the usual assistance, and after. Rev. Maxwell J. Wright, the necessary formalities had been gonethrough intimation was made that, by adecree of the Court of Teinds, dated 10thJuly, 1903, St. Ninians had been erectedinto a quoad sacra parish. This openedthe way for Mr. Wrights formal inductionto the parish by the Presbytery, and theceremony took place on 2nd September,1903, the Right Rev. Dr. Gillespie, of Mous-wald, Moderator of the General Assembly,being associated with the Presbytery onthe occasion. Following on the erection ofSt. Ninians to a parish, there was theduty of electing a kirk-session.
