At io6° (b. m.) I observed a veryhigh snowy peak, the Dongon. Having seen all that I wanted to see here I made myway back to Garbyang with all speed, as I was anxious toreturn to Europe as soon as possible, and I travelled * Yangti = KINDLY NATIVES down to Askote in company of Peshkar Karak Nerpani road had fallen in two or three places, andrough shaky bridges had been constructed across thedeep precipices, one of which can be seen in the accom-panying illustration. We met with a hearty receptioneverywhere, and kindness after kindness was showeredupon us by all alike.
