The historic town clock and the Fielding Hotel, Fielding, North Island, New Zealand
The Fielding Hotel was built in 1875. The clock dates from 1902 and was originally in the Post Office building but installed in a tower in 1904. An Earthquake in 1942 severely damaged the building and the clock, bell and mechanism were dismantled and packed away, intending to be re-erected at a later date. It wasn't until 1999 that the clock was installed in a new tower as a Millennium project for the town.
