The old Baltimore and Ohio spirit, which isthe true American spirit, is very much aliveon the Philadelphia Division. In the recent Liberty Loan campaign, apart of the Maintenance of Way Committeetook a trip to an outlying point to cover acarpenter gang living in camp. A meeting wascalled and a number of men reported that theyhad already subscribed through their did not stop them, however, and theysubscribed to the Baltimore and Ohio offer,with the exception of one man. This man hadhad serious difficulties, sickness and death,and felt unable at the time to commit himselfto further expense.
