KATMAI NATIONAL PARK, ALASKA: A BULLY Brown bear was given a beatdown first by a fierce mummy bear defending her cub then by a passing have-a-go hero bear who finally sent the villain packing. Pictures and video taken just one-hundred feet from the action show how the bully bear was not willing to share the meat from a whale carcass with the mummy bear and her cubs, so decided to try and finish her off in a savage attack. Luckily before either could be seriously injured or killed a larger male bear stepped into the fray. The timely intervention resulted in another beat-down for the hapless bully. Retired amateur photographer Jim Floyd (68) was in Kukak Bay, Katmai National Park, Alaska when this series of bear brutality was captured on camera. Expedition leader Brad Josephs (39) was able to film the dramatic scene as it unfolded.
