PACIFIC OCEAN (July 9, 2017) - Ship's Serviceman 2nd Class Elvis Bempong, a native of Ghana and assigned to the supply department aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22), fires an M-240 machine gun during a live-fire exercise. San Diego is embarked on a scheduled deployment as part of the America Amphibious Ready Group, which is comprised of more than 1,800 Sailors and 2,600 Marines assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52) and San Diego.
