Along this shore fossils occur in January /February 15 patches and pockets in the reddishferruginous sandstone and dark brownbeds and are not generally distributedin layers. When a pocket is struck theimpressions and casts of bivalve shellsare in the utmost profusion, the com-monest being examples of Placamensubroboratum and Mactra hamilto-nensis.
