New Double Rudbeckia 44 Golden Glow.' A glorious new plant, and one that will find a place in every garden here and abroad ; of fine habit, vig- orous growth, with early, continuous and immense blooming qualities; it will be found excellent also for cut-flower purposes, inasmuch as the stems are long, and often carry a dozen flowers furnished with beautiful foliage. A large vase filled with these flowers is a beautiful sight. Gardening says of it : In this month's Horticultural Trade Journal we read : ' A large, double flowering, Golden-Yellow Rudbeckia will be a leading plant novelty next year.' We are glad of it, for it is a good thing, and more elegant and beautiful than the double-flowered sun- flower (Helianthus Multiflorus, fl. pi.). We got a little plant of it last winter, and in the spring planted it out in the garden in good soil. It is now 6 feet high, much branched, the branches inclining upwards and in bloom. We liail it with delight as being one of the most distinct and beautiful large growing, hardy peren- nials that have been introduced for years. 25 , $ per doz. Spirea Anthony Waterer. New Perennial Phloxes. The following collection has been selected for us by one of the most responsible French houses. We have not yet flowered them, but we are assured that the collection embraces only the very finest of recent introduction. Ascanio. Very la
