A ferry boatruns .hourly from the foot of Whitehall-street to the three principal points, thefirst of which is the Quarantine Landing, so called be-cause formerly the location of the NewYork quarantine buildings. It is a ch arm-ing location for private residences. Edgewater, (Stapleton.) This is a mileor two further down, and is the largest vil-lage on the island, containing some man-ufactories and a shot tower.
