People paying respects at the Jatulokbal shrine, Gaysorn Plaza in Bangkok, on the 3rd day of the Lunar New Year 2024

In Hinduism and Buddhism, the Lokapala are guardians of the cardinal directions, commonly refered to as Dikapala or Four Heavenly Kings. Each deity is associated with a specific iconography as well as unique weapons and mudras. Jatulokbal, a composite Thai representation of the Caturlokapala, is often worshipped by those who hold dangerous jobs.
