At Kalavrita took place one of the most infamous, hideous war crimes that the Germans committed in Greece. On December 13, 1943, the Nazis executed more than 1200 civilians (including women and children) in the region of Kalavryta, Achaia, Peloponnese, Greece. They also destroyed completely 28 villages in the region.
