Rhea on a snow-covered field near Utecht on Lake Ratzeburg. Escaped from an enclosure in Gross-Groenau in autumn 2000, up to 300 specimens now live in the Schaalsee biosphere reserve. The real home of the ostrich-like chicken, which is up to m tall, is the South American pampas.
