An alledgedly 200-year-old tree that was broken in half by the strong winds and fell destroying a fence, the energy cables and other shorter trees. The 21st of May storm in the province of Quebec left a trail of destruction behind. Meteorologists call it a derecho, a widespread, long-lived, straight-line wind storm. In the municipality of Saint-Hippolyte, 45km north of Montreal, over 2000 people lost power in the Achigan Lake area. Within the province itís believed that over 400,000 people lost power. Hydro-Quebec is working to replenish power to the area.
