Pyli old stone arched bridge, also know as "Porta Panagia" bridge, close to Pyli town, Trikala, Thessaly, Greece.


This one is Pyli bridge, located about 1,5 km after Pyli town right beside the road that goes from Pyli to Elati. It was constructed on 1514 by St. Vissarion and connects the banks of Portaikos river and two mountains, Itamos and Koziakas. It is 20 km far from Trikala city and until 1936 it was the only passage between the mountainous villages of Aspropotamos region and the plains of Trikala. Its arch has a width of 28,20 m., its height is 13,30 m and its total length is 65 m.
