Digital mass balance. This balance is accurate to two decimal places. The controls include a switch for setting the reading to zero, and a bubble level window (inset view, upper right) to ensure the balance is level. The balance has adjustable feet (inset view, lower left) to allow adjustment if the surface is not level. This orientation relative to the downwards force (weight) produced by Earth's gravity, is needed for accurate readings.
