The section is triangular. The cut fails clearly to represent the twosides of the triangle. This type, so far as our experience extends, has not heretoforebeen discovered in Florida mounds (Fig. 17). Together, with human remains, feet from the surface, were: a leaf-shapedimplement of chipped chert, one end unfortunately missing, with a length of , and a maximum thickness of about .4 of one inch; a portion of a dagger or lance head about inches in length, probably of crystalinesandstone; a sandstone hone, and a part of the lower jaw ofa bear.
