Case for the centrepiece of Wenzel Jamnitzer. This leather case was specially made for the large centrepiece by Nuremberg silversmith Wenzel Jamnitzer (on display in Gallery ). That silver-gilt showpiece is shaped like a high-footed bowl surmounted by a vase. The table ornament was kept in a dedicated area of the treasury of the town hall of Nuremburg. The case was opened only on rare occasions for particularly high-ranking guests.
