Cw 7278 150103 passes closed Midge Hall Station A Northern train passes through the closed station at Midge Hall near Leyland in Lancashire. The station here at Midge Hall closed to passengers in 1961 though the platforms still exist there is a hope that the station will soon be reopened. The train has come from Ormskirk and is making its way to Preston. The line is now a single track rural branch line, though at one time it formed part of a main line from Liverpool to Preston and on northwards to Scotland. There are three intermediate stations along the line at Croston, Rufford and Burscough Junction. The train is a Northern service of two carriages powered by diesel engines, a dmu or diesel multiple unit, no 150 103, and is working the service from Ormskirk to Preston.
