Maidens is located in the parish of Kirkoswald on the Ayrshire coast, at the southern end of Maidenhead Bay, in the Firths of Clyde. A group of rocks at the outer side of the pier form a natural harbour. The rocks are known as 'the maidens' and give the village its name. They can be accessed at low tide.
