Every year, on Mondays in Albis, a multitude of people from all over Campania go to the Sanctuary of the Madonna dell'Arco, they are the fujenti (those who flee), devoted to the Virgin for the "graces" that she has bestowed their. The fujenti dress in white with a blue transversal band and a red one at the waist. Many of them walk barefoot. In some fujents the sight of the Virgin of the Arc causes states of strong emotion which result in tears, screams and convulsions. The Madonna dell'Arco is among the most suggestive religious holidays in southern Italy.
